Level Three - Kicking technique

Stamping kick is a downward kicking technique. It can be applied to front, rear, inner or outer target. Stamping kick attack to the front and rear the heel is used as the striking tool. Stamping is used mainly to attack an opponent’s knee joint, shin, ankle and instep.

In this video, i will show you how to use stamping kick ,turning kick, front kick and side kick.
It just an example, so , why don’t you create your own technique.

Be creative.

Level Three - Create your own style

Didn’t update this blog for a month. Sorry.
Level One you learned seven technique. Level Two also seven technique. In Level Three, you need to combine that technique. Use your own creativity to create your own twin attacking technique. All my students love this level. It is simple .

Step 1 - Facing each others

Step 2 - Move to right side or left side when your opponents attack you.

Step 3 - Counter attack with you first attacking technique and follow by second attacking
technique.

The example ;

i. hand technique & hand technique (knuckle to the adam apple follow by chop to the neck)
ii. kicking & kicking (front kick to the stomach follow by turning kick to the rib)
iii. kicking & hand technique (turning kick to stomach follow by chopping to the neck)
iv hand technique & kicking (use your own idea)

Tips : Attack to the opponent weak point .

No video in this post. I will put that video later. Try and create your own technique, refer to Level One & Level Two video. You can record you own technique , send it to me and we can share it together in this blog.

Learn how to kick -turning kick

My friend ask me to publish his video on this blog and share with you his kicking technique.
I hope that you can observe the movement of his body and learn how to kick effectively.
This technique call “turning kick” or “sepak layang”.

Pic 1 - L stance & guarding block.

Pic 2 - Move the back leg.

Pic 3 - Twisting the hip.

Pic 4 - Put up knee & swing the leg.

Pic 5 - Swing harder with power.

Pic 6 - Hit the target with 100% power. Stablize you body position.

Pic 7 - Pull back the leg & wait for second kick if can.

Pic 8 - Ready for safe landing.

Pic 9 - Landing with L-stance & guarding block.

You need to practice this technique properly . Do it step by step . The stance, twisting hip, swinging leg, hitting the target, pull back and landing technique. Stability is important.

Warm up first , do some “strech - ching” , swinging your leg slowly , aim the lower target . Then middle target (stomach) , after that a higher target (head).

Practice make perfect.

Level Two - Right Side Step

This is Second Level Lesson. In this lesson, you need to apply right side step. When the opponent come toward you, you need to step a side to the right. Then , you must to strike back. The objective of this level is to avoid attacking and to strike back. Watch this video.

Technique 1 : Right side step and punch to the face or oponent jaw.

Technique 2 : Right side step and follow by chop to the neck.

Technique 3 : Right side step, grab and twist the opponent wrist hand and hit the elbow (break the opponent elbow)

Technique 4 : Right side step , grab the wrist hand and nudge the opponent armpit (gland)

Technique 5 : Right side step, grab the wrist hand and knuckle to the kidney area (appendix tube) right side.

Technique 6 : Right side step and turning kick to the rib.

Technique 7 : Right side step and side kick to the front body area. (chest, abdomen, etc )

Ask your friends to practice it. Do it repeatly. That all for today.

International University Pencak Silat Championship 2008

Persatuan Silat Seni Gayong Malaysia (PSSGM) Multimedia University together with Youth and Sport Ministry of Malaysia organizing a tournament competition among all universities around the world named International University Pencak Silat Championship 2008 (KPS08). The tournament is on 26th March till 30th March 2008 at Grand Hall, Multimedia University (Cyberjaya Campus) Selangor. India , Azerbaijan and Austria are a part of the international contingents which already conforming their participation. Currently, we have around 20 local contingents which come from IPTA and IPTS would like to join this tournament.

Level One -self defense course begin


Hi,
Self defense course start today. This level for a beginner. What you need to do is to find a friend as your partner. No martial art equipment been use in this level. I’ll show you 7 simple technique to use. Watch this video.

Every technique in this video will divide into three phases :

First phase , you need to face you partner , you can use any stance. It is free style self defense.
Video : Mr Green and Mr. Yellow face each other in thier own style.

Second phase , your partner moving foreward to punch , you need to step out to left side (side step)
Video: Mr. Yellow move toward Mr. Green to punch. Punching target is opponent face. Mr. Green step a side to left and ready to counter attack. Mr.Yellow loose his target.

Third Phase , you need to counter back your partner, choose your own target. In this video , you can see 7 target to attack using hand and leg. Keep practice your favourite target.
Video : Mr Green can see his target (Mr. Yellow blank side) and attack it.

Is it a women self defense ? Yes. Woman or girl can use this technique. It’s simple.

To improve your skill, you need to practice everyday.

Tips: Take 10 minutes to do warm up , then do some callisthenics for strengthening and loosening up muscles and joints.
Practice the basic to punch and basic to move side step.
Training with partner to use this technique.
Watching this video before training.

The target

There are three factors in counter attack :

1. sense of timing - the right time is when your opponent loose his power and not well balance.

2. a judgement of distance -distance influences the choice of movements. Too close you cannot kick . Too far you cannot punch.

3. the target - watch this video . I will show you my favourite technique and favourite target.

Aggressive defense

When your opponent attacks you, he has to come to you. His action of coming toward you offers you to apply “counter attack’. When your opponent come toward you, he presents to you his “blank side”. When you move to left or right side you will see his “blank side”. You can use hand or leg to “finish” him. Which parts of his body is your target ?
